Engine oil Castrol or MOTUL
Motul 8100 stopped all oil burning issues I had in my Subaru Turbo. Mobile 1 would just burn off and I had to constantly add oil
Castrol in my daily driver. The daily would have a slight ticking when warming up with other brands, not with Castrol, so I been using it for over 100k with no issues.
Have a look on Amazon they do some good deals on oil, I normally stick it in my basket and wait for it to drop.
My old car was Castrol 5w30 Magnatec, £28.50 for 4l on Amazon £43.99 from euro.
I changed my engine oil at 5k km on my own because the bike felt shit to drive, heating up too much + shitty mileage, my guess is that RE uses an improper grade or bad quality oil, i used the motul 10w50 fully synthetic oil, it's an immediate and huge improvement, mileage, heating, smoothness, clutch, everything improved, and I'm not even exaggerating.
Using Castrol EDGE Euro 5W-40 after watching a EN owner on YouTube suggested it. Car runs great in this 110 plus days in Texas
Would be better to use a quality full synthetic instead. Motul 7100 is very popular but there are other options. I'm thinking about giving the Shell/Ducati oil a try.
I did 100k on Castrol gtx in an f4i plus tens of thousands on other bikes using the same oil. I buy it in bulk and it goes in the whole fleet.
In the rare occasions I get it from there, I use Castrol or Mobil One 5W-30 or 40.
Walmart carries jugs of Castrol Edge SPT 0w40 A3/B4 for much less than quarts at AutoZone
Run it in my R, wife's GTI, and even ran it in a WRX I used to have. It's good oil, the analyses I've sent in over the years don't lie!
I used Motul with ester. 15W-50 I think? It was for a 16’ Continental GT. Seemed to work fine.
