Engine oil Castrol or PENNZOIL
My engine is happy with Pennzoil Platinum. No leaks and minimal oil consumption.
I use castrol 5w-40 Euro on my 2006 Revup. Good oil pressure on hot SoCal days and burns less oil.
While any oil can work for your car, the current best option in the market is Pennzoil Ultra.
I have an MX-5 with that engine, Mazda uses Castrol Edge 0w20 but you can use a heavier oil and sime say it reduces wear. The purpose of the 20 weight is fuel economy.
I live in Turkey vw service uses Castrol EDGE 5W-30 LL
I combine that with Pennzoil Platinum as there’s almost always a rebate for it. I paid $12 a jug after rebates for my last batch.
So, the cause for VANOS to work as shit was an oil. I put Motul and engine drunk it like it was a water. After oil change to Castrol magnatec, engine works like a charm.
10w-30 FS castrol edge is what I use and I'll add Lucas oil full stabilizer to it and she loves it:')
It’s fine. I stick to the Castrol Euro as it’s readily available.
I use castrol as I’m Canadian and the price to get liquimoly is unacceptably expensive imo. But if you can get it at a decent price I’d go with that.
