Engine oil Castrol or RED LINE
I switched to Castrol Edge 5w40, and what a difference! It loves it. We didn’t lose any fuel mileage, just as Pepe. but much much smoother.
Car idles smoother with Castrol it seems.
Ran Redline 5w40 when it became purely a summer car in ~2013. ... Not seals are leaking, no issues of any form. Car has been Cobb stage 2 91oct tuned (OTS, not pro-tuned) almost 14 years, with a Crawford v2 AOS, Killer B oil pickup + windage tray being the only reliability mods, and it doesn't burn a single molecule of oil.
I run 10w-40 castrol gtx been running it for the past 5 years I drive a 2011 wrx
ran Castrol 20w50 GTX in my 2.4 Naps Z D21 since new the mechanic who put on new head gasket w/215.000 due to a bad radiator said engine looked brand new inside
Used 5w40 castrol for most its life, but vw504 standard is good too. Using it now and the old man says it runs good.
My Mazda3 which I service myself now, Castrol edge 5w-30 and feels happier. Same engine too.
I always used blue "german" coolant in my e90 bmw oddly it also recommended Castrol oil. Specifically called for it in oil cap
For example my previous BMW engine was very noisy with mobile 1, and quiet with castrol
Forget Castrol LL! Its a VAG Killer Oil. In this Case Mobil 1
