Engine oil Kendall or Total
I go to a local Toyota/Lexus specialist here in San Diego. They use Kendall liquid titanium and it cost me about $75.
Used to work closely with Peugeot and talked to their technicians and customers. Their old Prince engine insists must use Total oil. Nasim (previous owner of Peugeot Malaysia) once used Petronas Syntium and they experienced knocking and oil leak. After using Total, it eliminates the problem entirely.
On the other side, cheaper oil and very good spec. overall i see in Total Ineo Long Life Xtra 0W20 in VW 509 specification area, which is also written in my service book for high efficiency oils.
I bought a new air filter for carb. I reinstalled the front engine pan. I did an oil change. VW specialist recommended I go to Kendall 20w50 to fix the oil light at idle.
I have been using the oil recommended by the owners manual (the Dutch one at least) for a couple of years now, no issues at all. I use Total Quartz 9000 5W-40.
I use full synthetic kendall and it runs beautifully.
I like Liqui Moly in my 2011 Jetta tdi but been really impressed with how smooth my car is running on Total quartz and been using that the last few changes. Total Quartz = smooth
Hey, op! I have the exact same car and I created [a similar topic a few weeks ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/peugeot/comments/xuw2qq/peugeot_207cc_questions_for_car_dummies/ir03z3m/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app/ir03z3m/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3) and decided to purchase [this one](https://www.endado.pt/p/quartzo-total-ineo-ecs-5w30-5l-total-217263) for my car, been using it for a few weeks and so far so good. :)
My old 308 (2010), had the same engine; Total Quartz INEO ECS 5w/30
Total quartz is good
