An oil change to Liqui Moly 5w40 worked wonders for mine. Still zero lifter tick after about 1500 miles. Highly recommend.
Liqui Moly Top Tec 4200. I buy it from FCP and return my used oil in the same container and get 100% of my money refunded through their lifetime warranty program.
On the recommendation of my mechanic in reply to my quest to eliminate hot lifter tick in my 89K 1.6, Liqui Moly 5w40. Hot lifter tick is still nonexistent 1500 miles in.
Amsoil Signature 5W20
I use AMSOIL engine oil and coolant in mine for the 5 years and have no issues in that department.
Liqui Moly Molygen 5w40. Not cheap but I swear by it, made the engine quieter too
Using Amsoil. Nung pinalitan ko valve gasket ng 2008 Vios ko walang sludge. Gold ang loob.
I use Liquimoly Molygen (5W-40) and I’m very content.
All in all, that engine oil is expensive, holy liqui moly

Please never put Amsoil in a Volkswagen they under rate their viscosity/ wt ratings and the only time I used their oil I ended up spinning a rod bearing in my first R32
