Engine oil LIQUI MOLY or Motorex
Personally, i like the Lubro Molly stuff the best. While not too relevant to the MKVI and the TSI engine, when I used it on my former MKV with the FSI engine, I definetly noticed a lot less oil residue on my tailpipes and the engine just felt better, smoother and quieter.
I change every 5K with Liquimoli 5w-40... I'd use 5w-40 over 5w-30, especially if you're doing any kind of upgrade to performance. Car will run a heck of a lot better.. 5w-30 is to thin when working an engine as hard as most of us do.
For my 2.5 engine, with +100k miles and a turbo, ive been using liqui moly with great success. It meets the 502 requirements, and it yields great results.
VW uses Castrol Edge 5w-40, it's what they used for mine too, i do like Castrol but not the one made here in UAE(Sharjah), therefore on my RS6 i am using Liqui-Moly Top Tec 4100(VW approved 502, 505, 505.01) which is only made in Germany and i very happy with it, therefore i am going to use it for the Phaeton as well!
i know out of my positive personal experience with this oil and then every Blackstone oil analysis indicates low wear. i am a very satisfied customer which will only run liqui moly fluids on all my motors.
I agree with nickbeezy... Liqui moly is qualit oil... Its funny, the way i see it: it delivers better quality than expected... If you use the oil in addition to some of their additives you will notice impressive results. These results include a quieter engine, better mpg, better long term reliability, less oil burned, etc.
Feels buttery smooth now, lets see after a few k- miles !

Well, I did mine last weekend with Liqui Moly 5W40 and I have to say that the car does sound better than with Mobil 1 5W40. It might be imagination, but that counts too, right?? LOL
Liqui Moly or bust! i have been using the 5w-40 synthoil premium and ceratec with good results
