Engine oil Mannol or OEM BMW
i drive a g21 330D xdrive, I've been researching warm up procedures and people recommend letting the oil circulate for 30+ seconds then cruising in eco pro as the torque band is toned down and it changes gears as early as possible.
Depend on the oil grade that is in the engine.
In proper units that’s -15°C which is very close to the limit of a 10W- oil. I would let such car warm for 5 minutes easily.
If your car is running a 5w or 0w it will be fine to start driving in less than a minute. Which is just the time you need to remove the snow and ice from the windows, how convenient :P
As an additional word of advice. Do not use Mannol 5w30 C3 oil when doing oil changes. Use a high quality oil- castrol, shells, millers.. these cars are very sensitive to oil
I do in my BMW. Oil is cheap compared to a re and re on a diesel no longer sold in country.
I've never had any issue with standard Mannol - my cars have always had it every 5k and I'm pleased with the results.
My Skoda gets fresh mannol every 12 months. No problems so far. It meets the VAG spec so all fine in my opinion.
VW recommends 505.01 for fixed service at 15k Km or 507.00 for flexible service at 30k Km. Since our driving condition is harsh, I usually cut those Km in half. Since you were pushing 505.01 at 12k I would recommend you use 507.00 5W30 LongLife for 15k to 18k to be on the safe zone especially if your runs are on highways. I’d highly recommend you check oil from Mannol 507.00, I’ve been using them and they are solid choice. It costs under 3.5k for 5L. You can fill 4.4L at change of oil and top up 200ml at 4,8 and 12k interval
I'm using mannol extreme 5 W 40, very good price quality.
Nah you're fine. BMW engines are known for using some oil. Even 1l on 5k km is not much, even the dealership considers this as normal.
Motorban próbáltam, azzal olyan volt a váltó, mint amikor a Motul már cserés volt. Részemről inkább nem.
