Engine oil Mobil or LIQUI MOLY
I'm not really too sure about the weights, but I highly recommend using specially formulated euro blend oil. I believe that is 0W-40. I personally only use mobil 1 euro blend. It is expensive but your engine is not the place to get cheap.
Loving the oil, just got my analysis back and it looked great!
this oil is fantastic. the car runs PERFECT. it is a bit pricy but i dont really care. i've used it for +60k doing oil changes every 5k miles... as the report shows, the engine is WAY better than perfect.
I have been using liqui moly 5w-40 in my 2009 2.5l for the past 30k miles and i think its the best oil. recently i have discovered their MoS2 anti friction additive and put that in my last oil change. the car runs very smoothly and should last a long time with its strong wear protection. also the car consistently achieves good MPG.
I switched it to Mobile 1 high mileage, and no more smoke, and it now, I kid you not, burns less than 1qt/3-4k miles!
I have a 2010 VW Jetta 2.5 with 48,000 miles todate. The dealer used Castrol and on the last change Valvoline. Now I'm doing my own oil changes etc. Currently using Mobil 0w-40. Since I've had the car the oil level drops so little on 10,000 changes that I can't measure it. The last oil change included 4,700 miles of hot Interstate driving. After it was changed I had the oil tested and basicly it had a lot of life left. Looks like the 2.5 is very easy on oils.
When we tested Mobil 1 on the racecars on the dyno Mobil 1 freed up 6-9 hp over other oils using the same Ford viscosity - 0w/20W.
i switched from castrol syntec 5w40 to mobil 1 0w40 when i went turbo and i noticed faster spool up and 9 degrees colder oil temps during hard drivin.....
There is few more approved liquimoly, amsoil I personally use 5w30 liqui with oem filter every 5-6k miles
Mobil 1 0W-40 can be had at your local walmart. It's quite a bit cheaper at walmart than the auto parts store.
