Go for 5W40 rating. They work the best for all BMW diesel engines. I’d recommend the Mobil 1
Both are good, the high mileage and the restore and protect. I personally run Mobil 1 high mileage full synthetic with a wix filter and it has been great for me.
04 Silverado, 186k been using Mobile 1 full synthetic for the last 10+ years. Runs great!
My 02 Avalanche has has mobile 1 full synthetic it's entire life, and has 750k miles on the original engine. Never been opened or rebuilt. Piston slaps like a diesel on start up, but still running great.

Pennzoil Platinum Synthetic. My 1988 740 has near excellent compression at 245k og miles.

I'll stick to Honda coolant, mtf, and power steering fluid but oil I go with Mobil 1.
My ‘15 Golf Sportwagen ate a quart Mobil 1 between oil changes. Not the case for LM.
