for the last year ive ran the pure one \"micron\" and a a soup of mobil one 5w30 with the lucas fully syn additive. nothing but happy driving. the tick has gone away with the mix, or so i think.
you can use the 5qt. mobile 1 full syntec, thats what i use, it works great!
Mobil1 0W40 is fine.
i've gone M1 0w-40 and love it but i might experiment this summer
I run M1 0w-40 and do that at about every 7k and it could prob go longer.
I'm going on 5 years 1 month using M1 0-40...I did try Castrol 5-50 once just to try it out, and the engine behaved itself...both synthetics and about $6-7/qt...
I'm sticking with Mobil 1 0w40; it's always been an excellent engine oil for my cars.
my gti loves mobil 1 10w-30. beenn using it for 170k with no issues
I run mobil 1 synthetic 0w40 all year round, with no problems. Best of both worlds
The car itself is outstanding for the price, excellent quality build in my opinion. However the FSI engine has given a few of us some headaches. Mine performs great, except for burning excessive oil.
