Engine oil Mobil or ZIC
I don't think so, I've been using High Mileage 5w-30 Mobil 1 year round since 180k miles now at 240k. Though, I have started using the Honda Filter compared to Mobil 1.
Drove it to 300k using mobile 1 ephm. Sent samples at 10k intervals and blackstone always said i could run it longer. No abnormalities. I trust the oil life monitor.
Valvoline Restore & Protect is apparently amazing when it comes to desludging engines, and Mobil 1 also has some knockoff that claims the same.
Looking over this old post -- an update: I have since migrated to M1 ESPx2 in 0-20. The price has stabilized at $25gallon, and that made all the difference in the world to me, and is allowing me to reduce my OCI's to 5kish.
I use mobil one ESP 5-30
Mine has had Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20 its entire life (aside from the factory fill) and I've had exactly zero oil consumption or lubrication related issues. It still gets nearly the same fuel economy and is as responsive and smooth as when I bought it, no matter if it's blasting up a steep mountain or baking in the heat of summer traffic.
Every 4k-4500 miles with a Mobil 1 5w30-5w40 mix and some liquimoly oil treatment.
I go Mobil one with my Mobil one oil. I run the euro blend in my 2010 WRX because it's high miles turbo so it's 0w-40. Car seems to love it.
Pretty pricy imo, used it once then when I consulted with friends/a family member I’ve decided to switch to Mobile 5W-40, as this helps with the temps in my area living in a desert lol.
Mechanic put in mobil1 FS 0w-40. Car went into limp mode exactly at end of trip. engine was running rough and would not go above 40mph. Engine light was on. MB dealership denied warranty for an exhaust issue, stating the Mobil 1 oil (mb229.5) did not meet their required specification (mb229.51).
