Engine oil Motorex or Lucas
Ok, so here’s my anecdote: a friend of mine had an old Ranger that had an oil pump failing. He didn’t want to pay me or anyone else to pull the engine and replace the pump so I suggested he just throw a bottle of this in there and see what happens.
Well, his oil light went off and oil pressure improved.
Well I decided to try Motorex on my F800 GS, bought the 4T Top Speed full synthetic, in 15W50, boy I cant help it but recommend this oil, the gearbox is so smooth and silky.
Lucas tool oil is great.
I use motorex 30W in the air (or coil) side. The motorex is great stuff
Motorex 60:1 piston and rings go 180 hours with out issue, could go longer but i change it every winter, powervalve has yet to need to be seriously cleaned in 3 pistons.
I went with the motorex recommended oil. Worked great.
like i said 280,000km and had a tick when i got it 2 years ago, used one bottle of lucas, tick is gone. i beat the sheeet out of it everyday. no more tick.
I use Lucas oil in my motor oil for 1990 VW 1.6L Jetta diesel. I started using Lucas Oil because a relative of mine has been driving a large semi for almost 30 years, and he, like many in the trucking industry, swear by Lucas Oil. Judging by the parts per million of metal present in my motor oil, my motor oil with 1 cup of Lucas Oil, was wearing pretty well.
So I drained the gearbox while I was there and refilled with 1/4 Lucas oil, the rest 80/90
