Engine oil MOTUL or AMSOIL
I run Amsoil signature with an amsoil or wix filter, I usually only do 3k intervals to keep the 257 happy though lol.
One step above “full synthetic” is “100% synthetic” from Amsoil. Switched years ago, car has a subtle purr.
Motul 8100 xcess for high mileage. I've had a few subies thrive on this stuff.
Also my main purpose is for wear protection and high temp protection etc which the regular line does exceptionally well
From wear ratings and certification Amsoil, Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, Mobil 1 (Extended Interval). Amsoil I only use for track days, since I swap the oil out at 3.5-4K.
Real synthetic oil is way better than regular oil. Even full synthetic oil is better than regular oil. But if you want the best oil for the money look into Amsoil signature series. This oil is a true 100% synthetic oil and will prevent wear and quiet an engine down better than regular oil. I had a lifter tick in my Volvo 850 and it was caused by the pickup tube seal wearing away. I put Amsoil signature series in it and the film strength of the oil was so good it stopped ticking for a year before I had the seal replaced.
After 12 years and 45K miles. I took a 05 Mustang and added a supercharger. For the next three years , and 15K miles, I took it drag racing and high performance track day driving. Wanting more horsepower, I had the engine rebuilt with forged performance parts. When the engine builder measured the wear in the block, everything was still within factory specifications. I had used Amsoil for the life of the car.
I only use Motul in my car, but I only drive enough to really do 2-3 oil changes a year in 3000 mile intervals usually.
personaly I use 5W-30 Amsoil, MANN oil filter and Hengst air and cabin filters
I just put in Motul 8100 instead of whatever the dealer was using. Haven't really noticed a difference except it's occasionally burning a bit, but I can't say for sure that it's just because of the oil.
