Engine oil MOTUL or FUCHS
Stick to the recommended engine oil grade, but Motul offers better performance and lasts longer than stock engine oil.
I use Motul 5100 been running for 8k miles with no issues and smooth shifting.
I've been using motul 300v for the last 5k kms, inclined to use the same in the next oil change or will switch to motul 7100.
I've been using this oil on my '17 BMW S1000R (5W40 weight) right after I got the first oil change from the dealership at 1K KM. Bike now has 25K KM and still running like new. Nothing wrong about seals, runs great and shifts have always been buttery smooth. I don't baby the bike, and change the oil once a year since I only do about 3K KM per year. When flushing, it's still red, a tiny bit darker than when I put it in. To me, this an excellent oil and it is much, much cheaper than the OEM BMW one, and it is JASO MA2 specs.
i have a bajaj 200NS and was given same reason in 2015. i didnt pursued furthur and got Motul as it is much better engine oil than crap they use. 33k km later, no issue and i get it serviced outside.
Anyhow, BMWs are arctic tested and the mega aluminum blocks can contract to -50C and can still safely start with 0W40. So the key is 7000-10000 kms but mandatory 0w4- or a 5w30 Liqui Molly or Fuchs or motul BEFORE WINTER.
I'm using Motul 300V, the engine is so damm smooth. It's so smooth and I got bored. But at higher speed it's excellent.
my bmw likes Motul more than liquid moly. also it likes Pennz oil Euro more than LM as well.
I was using Mobil1 ESP 5w30 in my 530i XDrive.
I tried Motul but the oil consumption was bigger with the Motul.
