Engine oil OEM Mazda or MOTUL
I've always used Liqui Moly 5W-40 Leichtlauf, but yesterday I decided to put Motul X-Cess Gen2 5W-40...same quality? less money? I'll test that after 8k km and compare it to liqui
I prefer motul as I’ve used both and motul gives me less oil consumption from burning/passing through rings on my mk3 TT.
I love my Motul Xcess 5W-40, just becoming harder and harder to find.
I pay about that. Quality oil and filters cost money. Many shops price oil changes as a loss leader. Euro oil changes are not sold this way, you pay the true price of the service (roughly $80 in supplies, half an hour of labor). I pay ~$160, But you get quality oil in return.
I made myself the services, and used Motul 7100 10w50, I can feel the gearbox it's smoother.
Here is what IAG recommends
FA2ODIT (91 or 930ct) - Motul 5w30 8100 X-clean EFE, change oil every 2500-3000 miles
Motul 5w-40 8100 X-clean Gen2 may be used in climates where the average ambient temperature is above 80° fahrenheit. It is important to note that the oil used must carry the GM dexos 2 rating.
Motul. Always. Held up over 500hp for 2 years zero issues on unopened stock block plus its what almost all tuners recommend.
Motul 8100X-Clean for me, no problems!
I’ve been runnin Motul 7100 full syntetic for the last 15.000 km’s (9300 miles) never had an issue once.
I used to run Motul 800, but switched to 710 now. 800 has a higher flash point for high rpm racing, and I was getting carbon buildup from not running the bike hard enough.
