Engine oil PENNZOIL or RED LINE
Honestly, I just use Pennzoil Platinum for the past 7 years. but now I feel like reliability depends on the user, just keep up with the oil changes at least every 3k and if you’re abusing, just watch your oil temps. I have 145k miles and I abused this car since I had it at 0 miles. Still original motor and tuned by Admin.
Since switching to Platinum there are no oil leaks and less than a qt. to top up between changes.
Pennzoil Ultra Platinum usually or Castrol Edge. In North Texas I’ll run a cold grade of 10w in summer and usually 5w in winter. 40 or 30 summer hot viscosity/ weight and 30 winter. 4.2 version of your 4.0 S/C AJV8.
Older high mileage car: Pennzoil High Mileage blend. Works better for me than Valvoline MaxLife to reduce gasket seeping and weeping.
I use 5w30 Pennzoil platinum and a Fram Endurance synthetic oil filter in all my Subes.
I personally use Pennzoil Platinum in my Ascent and Mobil 1 in my Crosstrek, mostly for cost and availability reasons.
I’ve been using Penzoil Ultra Platinum in my Jeep and it’s been running great, so far lol. The cold flow properties of the oil I use is really important because the winters here can be rough, thus why after watching that video I swapped to it.
I have the 6.4 liter Hemi in my Charger, and I switched from Ultra Platinum to Redline. My car uses 0w 40, but nonetheless, I have not seen or felt any difference between the 2. If you are worried about switching, I can assure you that Redline is a very high quality oil.
Pennzoil Ultra Platinum in all my cars.
I've tested both those oils, and was not impressed with the results. Both oils still needed changing at 5k.
