Engine oil PENNZOIL or RED LINE
Pennzoil Ultra Platinum every 3k miles religiously.
I use only Redline for all my oils-fluids. For engine oil, I have used 10w40 consistently.
The project farm video convinced me to use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. It’s about 98% of the performance of Amsoil for much less money.
From what I've read online, Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 is a solid option that you can find at most retailers.
Used to use Motul, now switched to Red Line for the higher zinc content and high heat stability. I rallycross my daily so high RPM and high heat.
Even though Amsoil produced the lowest wear numbers I'm using ultra platinum since I find that is what my car runs best on, engine is quieter than with amsoil or Mobil and velvety smooth.
In our 2003 1.8T Passat, we use; Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic High Mileage 5w-30. Changed every 4000 miles. Because we made the change early, we have not had and engine oil sludge problem. The Passat now has 205k miles.
Redline 5w 40 since break-in, 254k miles later engine still going strong. Plenty of other repairs done, but no internal engine repairs required.
Pennzoil Ultra Platinum is a crowd favorite and what I've been running in mine.
I’m using Pennzoil Euro 5W40.
