Engine oil Shell or ELF
Shell T6 rottella can be found for $10-12 (us) per gallon after sale and rebate. It is worth stocking lol.
Go find some Shell Rotella T6 at Walmart and use that. 5W-40, and it is rated JASO-MA so it's safe for wet clutch applications. I run it in both bikes and my car; it stands up to sheer and fuel dilution well.
Rotella T6. Don't waste your money on special bike oil. I used it in my ninja 250, my sumo, my speed triple. same oil for everything.
You need to run the 507.00 spec oil. I have been running Shell Rotella T6 Heavy Duty Diesel 5W-40 oil. They other one that I want to start using and is more widely recommended is Liqui Moly 4200 Top Tec 5W-30. The reason why I mention this is because the 507.00 spec oils has better lubrication then the other 501 and 506 spec oils. If the wrong spec oil is used it has a tendency to produce premature Cam shaft lobe wear requiring the replacement of the cam shafts.
personally, I'd use Rotella T6. It's a full synthetic oil marketed for diesel engines or "heavy duty" but it's a low saps 5W-40 oil that is perfectly fine to use in a gasoline application.
I have always used 15w-50 on VR6's and 5w-40 on 1.8t's and 10w-60 on the track cars. Try out Rotella T6 5w-40. I ran Motul 5w-40 on my 911 and it made tons of extra noise, went to Rotella T6 under advice from my tuner and it quieted it right down. Been using it on my Saab as well which has a noisy chain setup as well and it worked wonders.
I've been hearing lots of good stuff about Rotella t-6 i just changed mine to that the first time this month for the winter
So this morning I went n got some Rotella T6 5w40. filled her up and drove it pretty far. The light didnt come back on. I guess all I needed was an oil change? Sounds a lot quieter in idle too, no ticking besides the fuel injectors.
I go back and forth between white jug rotella in the summer and t6 in the winter. It's cheap, and I've never had any issues.
My local AZ sells Mobil 1 10W-40 Racing 4T, Castrol 10W-40 and 20W-50 synthetic bike oil, and the best bargain of the bunch is Shell Rotella 5W-40 Synthetic T6, which is [rated JASO-MA and MA2](http://s7d9.scene7.com/is/content/GenuinePartsCompany/1843126pdf) (although claimed to meet the spec by Shell, it's apparently not officially certified by JASO).
