Engine oil Shell or PENNZOIL
Actually, I changed my 85 Jetta from Delo 400 15W40 dino to Rotella T Synthetic 5W40 at 275K miles. Yes, you can do it.
I just changed my oil with Rotella T 5W40 synthetic. It has the most recent CI-4+ rating on the bottle.
Hey I've got 145K miles all but the first 5K on Shell Rotella T from Walmart. I go 10 to 12K between changes and I'm running Big injectors with the IQ dialed up. No Probs...
My '03 jetta tdi just turned 84000, I have used the rotella synthetic 5-40 the whole time. I change it about every 7,000. I'm in the northeast. Last year it got down to 10 or 15 below quite a few times. It sounds like someone shaking a buckets of marbles when I first start it, but it smothhs right out and allways starts. Rotela is ok by me.
Lately, I've been using the Rotella Synthetic 0w40 which is available at Canadian Tire. It conforms to the required specifications for the non-PD engines.
Canadian Tire sells Shell Rotella SB full synthetic. Great for our TDI's....
Another option is the Shell Rotella T synthetic 5w40. It's not a PAO base stock. But it's $13 a gallon, for cheaper oil changes.
I recently put in Shell Rotella t, 15w 40 and it seems to work a lot better than the castrol 15w 40
Go with the Shell Rotella 5W-40 available at Wal-Mart
I'm going to buy Shell Rotella T 5W-40 synthetic, available at Wal-Mart, for the first oil change I have to do myself.
