Engine oil VALVOLINE or OEM Volkswagen
Valvoline restore and protect is all that you can do. Best motor oil out there.
VALVOLINE RESTORE AND PROTECT AND SHORTEN OIL CHANGE INTERVAL! It will fix it!
Run valveoline restore and protect for 3000 miles. Add engine oil flush before eat oil change according to their instructions repeat 4 times or more. After that continue to run valvoline restore and protect until the engine dies
Edit: dies from old age at 500k miles
8,000 fall through spring, 6,000 for summer, running full Valvoline full synthetic.
Don't know how many miles is on this car but these are notorious oil burners. It's a long shot buy you might try running Valvoline Restore & Protect oil.
If you are using VW original oil then stick to it and the service interval. 15 years 229,000km later mine is going strong. I did mess up by doing service at 15k km all these years. Sticking to 12k is best. Instead try iftex system D. Makes a very noticeable difference. More important I feel is changing the air filter more often. And compulsorily changing diesel filter every year.
If you do research oil analysts here in this sub, Valvoline comes out the best.
Using high mileage oil (additives to make gaskets swell just a tad bit), used to burn almost a quart between 5k miles but now it's maybe half a quart.
Vaguely remember having the oil and brake fluids changed for my 40k, and maybe a tire rotation.
I used that once years ago in my 2011 Limited on Stage 2. What a waste of money.
