Engine oil VALVOLINE or Shell
Looks real good. Valvoline R&P is in mine now.
Valvoline Restore & Protect oil, stat!
I do like Valvoline R&P and it is in fact cleaning up two older, normally aspirated cars I have with oiling and ring issues, installed in one Lexus and one older Acura (Isuzu).
I wouldn’t go with 0W20. Most people thicken the oil up in these when they start getting excessive oil burning. Lots of folks running Rotella 5W40. I ran it for years before I got tired of paying the premium price.
Oil burning around 150k, although switching to Valvoline Restore & Protect I've basically eliminated it. Seems to be related to carbon buildup in the low tension rings.
I run rotella t6 5w-40, and she loves it
10w30 Rotella will cut your oil consumption by 70-80%, ran it in my last Subaru until the clutch went at 234k and running it in my current Subaru
Change the oil with Rotella T6 oil.
So I had this same question because I assumed that my local Toyota stealership would use “Toyota” brand oil, especially since they charged $70. Come to find out they used Valvoline.
I run the diesel Rotella T6 5w-40. My catalytic converter decided to start throwing P0420 codes around 58k miles and I spoke to a shop that I am going to have tune my car and one of the techs said that they reformulated T6 a few years ago and it has more zinc in it than it used to and that might have had an effect on my cat and it's early demise.
