Otherwise lookup DEPO brand, they’re pretty decent and not $1,400 each like the oem HR headlights.
I have the Morimotos, pricey but well worth it.
Gen 2 morimotos, they’re so bright I really don’t even need my light bar anymore
If you want to spend the money or wait and save, I have morimotos and love them. Especially since they came out with Amber DLR version
The DEPO headlights will be a really good upgrade over the 03-05 headlights.
If we're talking headlights, oem 1000%. Morimotos are good too (output and spread) but they have qc issues. Avoid Alpharex like the plague. They have terrible beam patterns.
Replaced them with some Depo lights from RockAuto. Plug and play again, and WHAM! Beam pattern? Lovely. Clarity? Perfect. Leveling? Works, but not even needed. They were good out of box.
The quality of Depo headlights is generally considered to be not bad (they are EU-certified), but not the best (like for instance Hella).
In my experience, get the OE ones (Magneti Marelli) or none at all. I bought a Depo one way back when, it looked the same as these pics but the light output was not as good and the level motors were noisy and cheap sounding.
You throw em in the trash. Cuz no e36 deserves cheap headlights
