Headlights Depo or TYC
I'm using the Depo HID Projector headlights paired with 4300k bulbs and it works perfectly fine.
Mine used to get moisture inside on the passenger side. Only when I decided to completely separate the lenses from the housing to fix the adjusters did they seal properly. Just used a clear silicone around it.
Pretty much these depo heads are plug and play just make sure all the wires sit perfect on the heads and you are good to go.! I only needed to run a wire for the fog lights.
I too bought the DEPO headlights but had mine done by a company here in the bay area called Umitzna who replaced the halo rings to Orion Rings which are LED based hence why its so bright. But the lights along with a Euro Light switch and I had to have my car VagCom to shut off DRL! Now when i turn on parking lights both halo rings come on and when i turn the headlights, both rings plus my HID's run.
My Depo headlights had the same damn problem. After posting my question a dozen times, I finally got the right answer: see onebdgti's first post in this thread: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3122967 Had to get a very pointy set of tweezers and move a wire over in the connector.
My depo headlights were solid as hell. I ran a bead of silicone around the edges and didn't have a single issue. Light output was increased from stock as well.
Beam Pattern Output is IDENTICAL for both Low beam operation and High Beam Operation. There is NO difference. Zip. Zero, between the two.
I bought a set of "smoked" DEPO's from an unnamed, supposedly reputable, used-parts seller on the vortex. Upon receiving the lights, discovered that two of the internal mounting tabs on the passenger headlights were broken.
DEPO is crap. REALLY cheap, Asian knockoff lousy lighting that your car does NOT deserve to suffer from.
stey away from depo... All the beam pattern I had seen from them SUCKS!!
