Headlights OEM Toyota or OEM Volvo
I picked up the Toyota headlights from a dealership in Atlanta, solid upgrade for the money.
On my 2023 Highlander I was getting flashed by about 50% of oncoming traffic. I parked near a wall in the dark, put tape on the wall at the brightest spot. I lowered the lights a bit, perhaps about 1 1/2 inch, parked about 12 feet from the wall. I now get flashed by less than 1%.
I know for a fact that the lights on my Sienna platinum and my Model Y are extremely bright and very likely blinding. I know they are adjusted properly.
Buy a used headlight using the part number that you can find on the headlight (under the bonnet, remove plastic cover that sits above the headlight). In Europe you can get full LED adaptive headlights for 300-350 EUR used. No programming necessary after installation.
I just replaced mine on my 2013 with these OEM ones from ToyotaPartsDeal.com
Part No.: 81150-04220
Part No.: 81110-04220
~$465 shipped and no complaints
My lights looked about like yours before, and replacing them gave me a dramatic improvement in visibility. I knew the haziness was affecting my visibility, but jeez it ended up being a much bigger difference than I thought.
Install wasn’t bad, but you will need to adjust them after install, which is fairly easy.
Sienna headlights are way too high and bright. Please make sure they are aimed properly low enough so that they only minimally blinds the oncoming driver.
We have a 10-year old Toyota Vios (2014 model). I\u2019ve only recently gotten to a point where I had enough money to start putting effort into our car. I\u2019m very new to these kind of stuff and honestly doing research on headlights is very overwhelming.
Our 2023 toyota had those lights and had that automatic hi to low beam sensor shit.We got that turned off because there was bugger all difference between hi and low beam and we were constantly flashed on low beam for being too bright. I dont understand why the did this to new cars.
Unfortunately due to stupid decisions at Volvo Xc40 lacks of one of best features of larger brothers. Headlights don't turn. As per Volvo it's a small economy level car.
Volvo S40 Headlights are not bright - I have recently changed them and its still not much better.
