Ignition coil NGK or Duralast
I've had success with NGK coils via Rock Auto on multiple vehicles.
Used the mitsubishi one’s in my 2006 9-3 - no issues in over 7 years of use. Used these NGK in my 2011 9-5 (they were $2 more per coil but had a 3 year warranty) Different engine with OEM being Denso but the NGK have worked fine over the past year.
I recently replaced using NGK. Solved my random miss holding at 5k. I'm pleased with them. Not lacking anything. It added some pep to my step, for sure.
NGK. Run em perfectly fine on my turbo D17, most "performance" coils won't net you any real gains lol they'll just be bright colors
I try to buy name-brand ignition coils like AC Delco, Denso, Motocraft or NGK. You're basically buying copper wire when you buy a coil . and the cheaper the coil, the less [copper.So](https://copper.So) they fail early
Duralast is a hit or miss kinda deal. It’s equivalent to oem. The good thing about it is you can swap them out for new ones if it ever fails. The bad thing is they either fail in a very short period of time or last for a very long time there’s no in between.
I have burnt through many duralast coils. Changing to standard or delphi today actually as the duralast keeps having misfires
Never had good runs with ngk
I’m having similar jerking problems like when my plugs/coils went bad again and the mechanic suggests coils, especially if I don’t have “Honda brand” coils. How bad off are duralast coils? Autozone is switching out these ones now for free due their warranty but I know now if the car starts messing up again that I need a new brand. I drive A LOT, so I’m wondering how normal is it for duralast coils to go bad so fast? They were literally changed in the mid winter. I can imagine I drove about 10-15k miles before my car started having problems again
I would stay away from NGK coils, I replaced 4 in my Honda and in 2 months one was out and another starting to go out.
