Oil filter LIQUI MOLY or Mann
Just did mk7 gti and my mk8 golf R with that HU 6013 Z.
All good
i use hks engine flush, valvoline vr1 20w-50 and a mann oil filter.
I have religiously changed the oil and oil filter every 5k miles with Liqui Moly TopTec 4200 (with VW spec).
Also, I've seen a lot of the VW mechanics on yt using Mann filters when doing oil changes. Considering the one I bought from VW was like $25, and rockauto has the Mann ones for like $8, that's what I plan on using in the future.
You can find Mobil 1 esp at most local car parts stores and you won’t have to ship. 0w30 or 5w30, double check it’s VW 507.00 on the back. I think my advanced auto parts down the street had the correct Mann oil filter in stock too.
I was using Kirkland synthetic before for topping off and other American oils for oil changes I’m sure, but then I went to a euro auto shop and they switched out for a German filter and oil, LIQUI MOLY, and I got a significant increase in mileage.
Honda OEM filter (Honda used Tokyo Roki oil filters for my bike ????) I used to buy Motul 7100 4T, however the price on that recently SKYROCKETED… it’s almost 80$cad before taxes for 4L (60$ for 1.05669Gal for you freedom folks).I refuse to pay that much for oil, so I now I buy Liqui-Moly Street 4T. And that’s basically the same price that the Motul USED to cost. 50$ (35 eagles, or whatever) I am aware that Motul 7100 has esters added to it, which Liqui-Moly Street does not, and that technically Motul 7100 is a better oil. But it’s not double the price better… I was willing to pay 60$cad, but not 80$cad lol.If I can find Bel-Ray EXP (another ester blend) at the shop, I’ll buy that too :P but Liqui-Moly seems to be much easier to find.
It is important to follow the service intervals and use quality stuff. I use motul for fluids and usually buy mann filters.
some mann filters have a nut at the buttom to make it easier to repmove on g60 but tis more cash for a dumm nut
To me it looks like you have a cheap shitty non oe/oem filter installed. I'd change the filter to a good brand, (mann/mahle/oem bmw) and then clean the area with brake clean then let vehicle run and recheck. If it's leaking as bad as it looks like it is it will be easy to verify that you fixed it
