Sure, VW does not make oil or filters, but it's easy to find out who makes those products for VW. VW has a lot riding on what they recommend a lot more than NAPA. Is there any reason why you trust NAPA vs VW? Do yourself a favor, get an OEM filter and an oil that passes VW specs. MANN, Hengst, and Mahle and the common OEM filters [in that order].
Can go wrong with Mann filters.
Also be sure to use a high quality oil filter, like a Mann...I had a Fram collapse under sludgy 5w40 in the cold.
I've been running MANN brand filters for the last 5 years with no problems.
It\u2019s been peanuts for me so far (knock on wood)\n\nI use Mann Filters and full synthetic 5W40 every 5k miles like clockwork.
That won’t happen if you were using a K&N oil filter. All these cheap brand filters are not sturdy and will collapse when you’re trying to take them off when stuck… either The Black K&N select filter or the white Premium filter will avoid this problem from happening…
We have a 2023 tiquan hi r line and a 2023 Taos highline never an issue except rear brakes on Taos and wipers both taken care of under warranty/ we change oil Liqui moly 0w-20 every 5,000 km with a Mann oil filter and air filter every second oil change also by Mann
K&N filters are some of the worst quality filters on the market.
