Shock absorbers KYB or KONI
Little update: since car is ca car with 72k miles and garaged whole it\u2019s life, i think it wasnt too bad. I replaced the boot and re-greased outer. Drives just fine, no noises or anything.
I heard the same about the B8 so I bought the Koni Special active with Eibach pro kit lowering 3cm.
I can say I am absolutely satisfied. The car is a real train at the curves without being stiff.
I went with KYB OEs for my 96. Really good ride and were cheap for the set on rock auto.
I run KYB Monomax shocks on mine. They have a nice balance of a comfortable ride and weight support for towing. As an added bonus you get a lifetime warranty with them.
Put on some KYB Excel-G shocks- avail at Rock Auto. Think I paid about $60/pair They’re Plain Jane (flat black) and the ones we got (lifted older SUV) doesn’t have the rubber boots that take on & hold water- happened several times to an old truck of mine.
Kyb on our 2010 elantra. Better than original!
I would suggest at least better shock absorbers (the emu ones are good but I've heard that the Koni adjustable shocks are a lot better especially for the body roll)
KYB. Used on my gen 1 and worked great. Tried Monroe on another vehicle and they were soft and bouncy, replaced those with KYB also.
After two failed sets of FSDs I'm sure and hope these new active series address the QC issues that the FSDs had on occasion. Loved them before they started leaking at around 40K
As also mentioned above the rear shocks suck. I got Koni for lifetime warranty and already lost one rear shock after 2.5 yrs.
