Spark plug BERU or OEM Volkswagen
I have the beru side firing and they work just fine.
Can't beat the 2.5 for hassle free reliability. Economy sucks, though. I have had my 130k mile 2.5 Rabbit since new and I have never averaged more than 25-26mpg in mixed driving, but on the other hand I haven't done much more than oil changes and spark plugs on it.
Look out for tensioner. Somewhat large maintenance at 40k intervals. (DSG fluid and filter, haldex fluid). Oil changes every 5-10k. Spark plugs every 40k a good ideal imo as well.
use oem plugs for the next 40k, its worth it, part number is 06H-905-601-A
My CC is 2 years old and I have accumulated 65k miles. I changed the plugs at 60k. They looked pretty toastyso I am glad I did.
Plugs 97K on my 2010 original ones...working great (lots of highway miles). I'll be changing them at 100K.
For the misfiring check your spark plugs it can be that simple... i got a mkiv golf too.
I've had much success with BERU plugs on all of my VW's, especially my 16V's. Beru maks the stock/replacement plugs for Porsche, VW and Audi (I work at a Porsche dealership, I see it all the time)
i've had the beru ultra x's in for about 8K...no problems...no noticeable improvement either...starts the same (good), runs smooth...no complaints, but no better than stock...
I have the same problem with my recently acquired 2011 Sharan. Tried a suggestion of new spark plugs with no success.
