Spark plug NGK or Autolite
I just took your guys advice and installed the NGK BKR7EIX plugs on my VW GTI 2.0T and I can feel a big difference as far as smooth acceleration and more response! I would defenitely reccomend these plugs to anyone with mods or a chip on their 2.0T!
Seeing how the dealer's prices are always higher, I'll be replacing the stock plugs with a set of the NGK's. Ive always run them in my 1.8T, and now my 2.0L 16v... and again... will be picking up some for the 2.0T FSI.
i had bosch and just switched to NGK BKR7EIX. theres a difference!!!
I am planning on ordering a set of NGK BKR7EIX. They are one heat range colder, and I keep hearing good reviews. I also hear the downside is you have to replace them more often. I think if you search for them, you'll find better reviews from ppl who use them and diy if needed. I found them here http://www.sparkplugs.com/resu...&y=17 , might be cheaper elsewhere, I haven't started shopping yet, im just coming up on 10,000 miles.
the plugs are autolite platinums AP3924. the wires are the blue ignitors from techtonics. the rest of the ignition is stock. do i regap the plugs, or should i leave them where they are now. i'm leaning towards leave them since it ran fine before and i don't want to deal with a no start issue when i start it or the first time with the new cam.
My mkV GTI came with Bosch plugs stock. I am now using a set of NGK BKR7EIX plugs (which by the way come pre-gapped...)
I run BKR8EIX gapped at 0.028 with great success as my regular plug.
bkr7e for pump gas.
I have autolites, they work well, but the car became jerky at part throttle when gapped at .024, runs better when opened wider for some reason.
After changing the plugs from OEM's to Autolite 3923's, the coil packs started popping up. I've read that the Autolites are smaller than the OEM's, so they don't hold on as tight...and then somebody else said this is bogus and they're both the same. Whatever the reason, the coil packs on my car do not like the Autolites.
