Starter motor Bosch or Duralast
I submitted the VIN # to the dealer and he said it is the Bosch starter...$591...
from rock auto a Bosch new starter is $190.00 CDN for an automatic
Modern Bosch starters are smaller and way lighter (17lbs vs 8lbs) than the stock ones.
Get the starter that fits a diesel/VR6 engines. No bushing required. Lots of power and spins the engine almost to idle speed.
I think most people don't have issues with hot starts, and the bosch rebuilds are pretty decent.
I've done my starter once, this was about 12 years ago. I did it with a remanufactured Bosch unit. I haven't heard anything about heat affecting the starters.
I got the Duralst Alternator, so far so good but I also got the Duralast starter. It has a lifetime warranty. The starter lasted me almost 10k miles.
I needed a starter for my 2013 accord. Couldn't wait for OEM and bought a duralast that lasted 2 months.
Bosch reman last 10k for me
My 09 Civic’s starter took a dump (was definitely due) around 2020. Don’t remember why but I got a Duralast starter at AutoZone knowing the pain in the ass risks. After replacing the starter I regretted it given how Honda made it somewhat difficult to replace but not impossible. A little over two years now the starter is now giving me issues with click no turn & me having to give it a tap or two.
