Starter motor OEM Toyota or OEM Subaru
I have a 2006 corolla with 350,000 miles. I had to replace the OEM alternator and starter. Transmission and everything else is original, save consumables.
I did an oil change and replaced my starter because my started had gone out after 270,000 miles.
I just replaced my starter motor on my N210 4Runner. What you're experiencing is identical - battery is fine, clicking + no start. I replaced a door actuator just prior and had disconnected the Negative on the battery as part of the door sensing sequence and it seemed to awaken my starter issue. I too had periodic starting to none.
Subaru dealer tech in Australia, here we're having lots of starter motors failure going on.
Your vehicle being a 2020 on a factory battery means the 12v battery is nearing the end of it's service life, also that means your car has an available PAK file update for the TCM module that allows extra time for engine restart.
My buddy has an earlier outback that came with that system. She’s got a lot of miles and honestly it’s totally fine. The one thing is that it does tend to start HARD. It cranks that sucker over like it owes it money
I have a 2005 w/210,000 miles and the starter just died. Was quoted 4.5 hrs to replace = $1,200 with OEM part

We had problems with the auto on/off (not starting; laborious starting). We got a new starter and fuel injector installed.
