Tires BFGoodrich or NANKANG
I’ve used Nankang plenty of times on my older cars, they were fine. Drove fine in wet, drove fine in dry, no louder than any other tires.
I think it really depends on the car. A fresh set of 13” AR-1 will last 2000-3000km on track on my dad’s Caterham.
I ran Ns2R on my R32 for a couple years and have no complaints.
I have them. I used to have a Michelin PS4S, which lasted about 24k miles before my front tires basically have no treads left (1.5/32 I think). Difference is stark, in terms of noise in highway. NS-25 is just so much quieter and I realized I can hear my podcasts without raising the volume to where it used to be. In terms or ride quality, I can definitely feel that it is ever so slightly more firmer than the PS4S, but I didn't actually check what tire pressure my tire shop put them on as, so it's subjective I suppose. road feel and grip, albeit I did not push them too much, isn't that bad.
I am so glad these were worn out by the time I bought my stock used JK. The minute I put KO2s on there, my Jeep became a real vehicle.
We run Falken Wilkpeak A/T3W on my wife’s Yukon and they are great. I had BF Goodrich A/T KO2s on my previous pickup and they were pretty good too. I’ve never owned Toyo tires before, so it’s a bit of a leap of faith, but the preliminary reviews I’m reading about the quality and efficiency of these EV specific all-terrains is promising. They look great!
I have a suburban and a Tahoe, I went with KO2 on both first but they suck in wet weather. Highway speeds and flash flood rains those tires are all over the road, and are noisy. They are great off-road and have taken them through rough terrain that took chunks off the sidewalk and never had a puncture and they last forever. I am now running the AT3w they are quieter on the road, perform better in wet weather. And they still perform well offroad.
In my limited experience with them i'd say that they are marginally better than Toyo's r888r over a single lap but require some tuning set up to not overheat.
Tires don't do that crap BF Goodrich. The car rides great, if it has quality tires.
K02’s have never given me a problem. Switched to Toyo ATII’s once and hated them.
