Tires BRIDGESTONE or NANKANG
Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza's have worked well for me. This is my 3rd set...1st on the Touareg. Had the Pirelli Scorpion's -- Was not very impressed with those.
I have got the Bridgestone RE960A/S and they are just a good all around tire. I have put more than 30k miles on them and have only one complaint...some noise. That is it. They handle great in the dry, wet, and even snow here in Michigan. They also wear great.
Im running 195/40/17 on my Corrado. I was never a fan of 17's but absolutely fell in love with these ultra rare BBS's and decided to buy then and put them on anyways. Since I didnt want to rub I bought smaller yet still reasonable tires. They are made by nanking but your brands are limited with oddball sizes.
The RE-01R's are on a massive sale right now, as the replacement will be coming soon.
Play with 'em and see how they feel. Anywhere 32 - 42 pounds is gonna be alright, but if you're sensitive, you'll find a pressure that yields the best combination of ride and handling ( and maybe wear), and lets the sidewall construction work as designed. I've found it to be 37/35 for stock contisports, the same or a pound more for my PS2's, 3 lbs less for my RE050A Bridgestones.
Mine are on thier 8th winter! Still have decent tread left.
the blizzak, i love mine.
Three Bridgestone Potenza RE750 tires, size 205/40/17 W80 About 1000 mi on them and a very sticky performance tire.
Have been riding Nankangs for over 100,000 miles now. No real issues, but as mentioned thread life is not the greatest but it's not horrendous either, I probably got like 20-30,000 miles out of a set. I think they are worth the $, as long as you're not looking for super performance out of them.
Very hard tire, no traction and questionable quality. Lasted about 10K on my son's Jetta w/18's...
