Tires Continental or GENERAL TIRE
I run these tubeless and they are the best tubeless for sure, zero fuss mounting, can use a standard pump and orange seal for sealant, if you can’t go tubeless your suggestion would be the next best thing. I’ve found them incredibly durable and a comfortable to ride on no matter the conditions.
The Continental DWS 06 were indeed better.
I've been very happy with the DWS06 for more than 100,000 miles.
I can recommend ExtremeContact™ DWS06 Plus . The stock falken are not even sedan tires and actually added from cx 5. I have noticed improved braking distance, no wheel spin due to low end torque, sharper cornering and better tracking, much improved grip in 1-3’’ snow and overall winter driving experience.
I had these installed on my 2016 GT last April:
Continental Extreme Contact DWS06
I don’t do much driving anymore (COVID work from home plus I drive my Miata when the weather is good) but over approx 10k miles I’ve been perfectly happy with them.
If you plan on keeping the truck for a while, the General Grabbers do a great job but a little more with price
The one set of General tires I had were great but those were car tires.
I had General Altimax Arctic 12 (studded) on my Golf Sportwagen and loved them.
Agree on running them at higher pressure to help with squishy feeling. All around performance in inclement weather was pretty good. Mine got noisy earlier than I would have hoped for primarily long distance highway use even with proper alignment, balance and rotation.
Just in case anyone is wondering ContiWinterContact TS810 S are the worst snow tires you can buy. I've got them on my car and as soon as snow hits they feel like worn-out all seasons. I think they were only designed for cold dry autobahns, not actual snow. Horrible.
