Tires DEXTER or VITOUR
Go for the Vitour P1. Just out a set on my MR2 this weekend. Wow so much grip
I have dextero Dat1. They got me through winter and mud without issues. I've had them over a year, and they don't really show much treadwear. The only downside is taking off in the rain from a stop with the wheels turned. The back of my truck is light, so the inside tire wants to spin. For a cheap tire, they do a good job. I would buy them again.
I'm running them on my C7Z (315/345s on 18s). Only one event on them so far (next one is tomorrow) and can confirm they are stupid fast. I was running Conti ECFs previously and about 70% of my first event on the P1s was trying to find the limit and learn the tire.
I put a set of the dextero at on my son's blazer. They did great. They are quiet. We put about 10,000 on them before we sold it. Only problem I saw was the front was wearing funny but that was the blazer not the tires.
I bought these dextero all season tires 3 years ago. Every year I drive about 35k to 40k miles. I drive even during snow storm and these tires have a very good grip. So far, I don't have any complaints about this brand. It has a 50k mile warranty.
I have these on my 4runner (265/70/17), I bought it with them on there so I'm not sure the exact mileage, but im happy with them. Work good on my red clay dirt road when it's rained.
I bought a 95 ranger that had a new set of these tires. I drove with the for about 1,000 miles before switching to the good year wranglers just because of preference. But I didn’t have any problems with them they were surprisingly quiet and rode smooth.
as a tire, they seem slightly dubious as far as the 200tw rating goes (although a052s are super low-duro too). they don't work well on heavy cars and from a buddy who runs them in practice/at non-scca events, they seem to overheat/slide a lot (corresponds to what the GRM article states). but they for sure are quick.
I have dexteros on an older suburban, they seem to wear ok, traction is less than the pirellis that came off (really down graded) so they are ok and have been a safe tire they are probably half the price of the pirellis that were removed.
In australia we sold them as a budget brand, they were noisy, slippery and very average however as a drift tyre, i have no idea.
