Tires DUNLOP or KENDA
I mean if you’re really wanting the best value to enjoy gravel riding on your xc bike, tires tires tires. Find a good deal on some Thunder Burt, raceking/dubnital, kenda rush, air trak/renegade, Aspen st and you’re cooking
Not on your list but I have a set of Kenda Klever at2's on both my daily 1st gen taco and my 94 t4r trail rig. I have no complaints about either. Good on road manners and not too loud. Been good in snow and offroad as well.
For a road like this Dunlop Mutant. If you look at what supermoto riders do with them, purely insane. And from my own experience with them, very very good traction even in cold weather around the freezing point or when wet. Does'nt smear when its very hot at least with my 100hp bike and its very good in corners. They look very rough but they run quite smooth. Also you can get ~10k miles out of them.
Everyone I know that has used these tires has absolutely loved them, and I see tons of positive reviews for them online, but despite all that I just can't get over how they look.
Here's the reality, it really really works on the road 6 tires and on the Dunlop Elite 4s. I had all the road versions on my ST1300 and these are the best in the wet so far. The Elite 4s on my wing were phenomenal even on sketchy mountain roads with it pissing rain on us.
Kendas are drift or low budget track tires. They’ll work but might be loud when driving
I only ever bought Kandas to do drift days on my previous cars. I didn’t think people dailied them
At around 40-45 degrees, stock Dunlops start to slip around corners with these tires in a bad way. 30's, you'll definitely lose control easily and slide with any hard braking.
The Dunlop summers? Yeah they're terrible lol. Basically useless under 40 degrees as they turn rock solid and no longer grip the road
