Tires DUNLOP or VITOUR
Continental 860+ I think has been the best reviewed winter tire in EU for several years now. I drive Dunlop, because the Continentals were out of stock.
I now have ZIIIs on my Miata and have been enjoying them. I’m not super picky and they were cheap but the grip is astonishing. Road noise is probably average.
I just had a set of Direzza ZIIIs on my AP2, and switched them out about three weeks ago. I’d put the overall grip from the ZIII slightly higher than as the Falken Azenis RT615 K+ I ran before I switched to the Dunlop. They talk more than the Falkens at the limit, meaning if you like to kick the tail out, they scream like a banshee. They’re a responsive tire, with a stiff sidewall and chunky tread blocks. The tire has a very solid feeling, and doesn’t feel like it deforms a whole lot as you load it up.
I have had the Trailmax Missions on my R1250GS for over a year and 8k miles. Really great adventure tire, decent offroad, great on the road and lasts.
Honestly these are a pretty decent tire in snow and ice having driven the RAV in the snow storm we just got in Mass.
we've been using Dunlop for our vios.
My Dunlop wintersport 3ds have 4 seasons on them right now, this will be their last. they are not as good as they were new, but they are decent and predictable.
I absolutely hated the stock gpr-300s on my ninja. In the dry they worked fine (only lowsided twice in a parking lot from trying to make the smallest possible circles), but I slid out constantly in the wet (thankfully never crashed) at normal lean angles and not very much throttle. I replaced them after about 4k miles.
About 2 years ago I had 4 Dunlop Conquest Touring tires installed on my 2015 Passat. About 5 months ago, less than 15,000 miles we noticed a groaning sound coming from the passenger side rear. I had all 4 tires rotated and now the noise is coming from the passenger side front. This was more annoying than having the groaning noise come from the rear so we had them rotated back again. The \"dealer\" said it was due to cupping and that's common with Dunlop.
I use Dunlop Direzza DZ102. Good for normal street driving. Tend to slide when doing aggressive driving into corners or turns. I do not like them too much.
