Tires Falken or GENERAL TIRE
I am now using General Tire Altimax Arctic and they are nearly as good....not as 'fine' of a ride as the nokkians, but nokkian is high quality rubber and the price reflects that.
I love my Falkens. Pretty quiet, no hydroplaning and cheap! Pretty decent grip in wet and dry. Terrible in snow. And They seem to be a very soft rubber that wears a little quick.
I had the General Altimax HP's on my X3 and they were a way better than the Conti's they replaced. Every set of Conti's I've ever had make way too much noise.:thumbup: on the General's
My next set of tires is going to be Generals. Had two sets of them on my last car and love them. Toyo Proxe's were too soft, the Bridgestone Potenza RE950 was a fave but too costly. And Goodyeear Assurance can just **** it. My Generals were Altimax HP's and were amazing in wet, dry, snow, handling, noise, tread wear. At least compared to all the others I've had over the year (to many to count). They were the only tires I bought twice because I usually jump around. General G Max AS-03
I went with General G-MAX AS-03 for my GTI. I like them because they are still on the cheaper end of the market but have good consumer reviews and the warranty is better than most of the tires you listed. General has a cheaper touring tire but I wanted to stick to another set of performance rates AS tires like the stock Pirelli set that was replaced.
brand new falken 912s: 2- 205/40, 2- 215/45..... for only 300
I've had 512s on three of my cars. Great mileage out of them and they do great in wet and dry...
Was running Avid W4s Yokohama’s on 14" Snowflakes and nothing bad to say till 20% tread, then a loose feeling... rain was good. I'm now running 195/50/15 Falken ZE912 high performance all season and also come in 14, with the stiff coils all around I have little to no push in corners and better off on the wider stance zero off-set rims. Now the main reason is they are a great wet tire and still trying to make the front push... my buddy ran them on his BMW and didn't like the oversteer feeling of the tire folding?!!? but I'm firm believer curb weight has heaps to do with it.... my 3 cents in rainy vancouver
Deff go with the falken ziex i have them on my 14" american racing rims there amazing they hug the road exspecially with all new suspension
I'd avoid falkens One car I bought had them installed 5k before I bought the car. I had the receipt of everything and they were already below 50% worn. (they were 512's) I then bought another car with Falken 912's that were put on 15k a go and they only have about 3-5k tread left.
