Tires Falken or OEM Porsche
Falken makes a pretty decent tire. I don't think they have high performance, but for a daily driver, they're pretty good.
I had the same tire in 245-45-17 (I think that was it) with a 99 load rating on my former '00 and liked them a lot. Quiet, comfortable, decent handling, and great price at the time.
I ran 615 on the street as well as a half dozen or so autocross events and saw ~15K miles out of the set.
i was going to get falken 512 in the 195 50 15s and save me $40 for the set, but 195 45 15 never been there, mine as well and try it out! rides comfortably as 195 50 15 doesn't feel any different from the 50 series!
was gonna tell you to get the falkens over the nexuns... the nexuns are not a good stretch tire at all by any means.. i have 205 40 16 falken 512s on my 9s and its a beautiful stretch, i have nexens on the front of my show car and hate them
my 205/45/17 on a 9 in front. Don't run a 40 series, the a 205/45 Falken 512 is just as small as a 205/40 of any other brand. the tire is just that small. Trust me.
My RE50s were also loud at 16K. I replaced them with Falken Ziex RE 912s at 20k and they are very quiet.
Well Evan Tire of San Diego did a remarkable job. They'd installed a new left tie rod, 2 Falkine 912 tires and performed a wheel alignment. I took it for atest drive then hit the highway. I love the feel of the car now. Lowered cener of gravity, steering response is a bit more accurate with less body roll.
I have 225/40/18 912's on my 18x8.5 and they stretch enough to clear my fenders. And I am pretty low. They are very quiet and are very good in the rain. I can take puddles at normal highway speeds and not even feel it. I have had them for about 10k miles and I have noticed little if any tire wear.
Compared to the Dunlop SP-5000 Sports on my GLI, which have a couple years on them at this point and only cost $74 apiece, the Falkens are awful; they don't grip, they're ugly, and they're noisy.
