Tires Falken or Vredestein
New tires for the touareg pretty happy with how they look. Although the brakes are much stiffer from the additional weight.
I went from the OEM 245/40R19 on my '19 non-R SEL-P to 245/45R18 for winter.
As the final installment in the decade-old 615 line, this tire blends a nice mix of dry and wet performance, with solid wear characteristics. A little loud on the street, but it’s right at home delivering lots of track laps or autocross runs.
Vredestein Wintrac Pro 245/45R18 winter tires mounted on MSW Type 48 model 8Jx18 ET40 5x112 black alloy wheels with TPMS for 2019 VW Arteon, with tire bags too. Purchased November 2019, used for 25,456 miles with tread depth currently measured with digital calipers at around 5.3 to 5.8mm so about 7/32”.
Review by Tire Rack finds virtually no shortcomings.
We replaced our tires on our LR Model Y at 28k miles. They’re amazingly smooth and quiet. A significant difference from the Goodyear tires which were such a rough ride - so much so that we were considering replacing the suspension!!! The Goodyear tires also had the foam core supposedly to reduce road noise - but the Vredestein tires are quiet without foam! AND they were cheaper as well.
I have them on 19" on a MYP and on my ice car. They very good. Nice with comfort (since they are a touring tire, not a performances tire) and rides over small bumps well.
I bought a set Falken RT660s for the corrado. Very nice tire on the street.
I had a friend that got a set of 19's from ebay. He said they were ok but wore pretty quickly iirc.
Vredestein Quatrac Pro will be my next set. I am so tired of buying Cont, Mich and other high mileage tires that don’t ware even and make noise before tread is gone, then I am stuck with a tire i over paid for and hate riding on. The tread lasts but they never seem to stay quiet.
