Tires Firestone or GENERAL TIRE
General Altimax Arctic12s here. I used to have some studded Hakkapelitas on my old Forester, but I've been really pleased with how these work studless
I run General Altimax Arctics because that is what they had in stock when I went in to get winter tires. I have no complaints; they were cheap, and I have not gotten stuck despite driving around where I shouldn't.
Beat bang for buck is the Firestone indy500 Firehawk. There is a reason they have a lot of hype around them
I'm extremely happy with my Firestone Destination X/T's in LT285/65R20E. They are quiet, good in the rain and very solid feeling even on my 1 Ton.
Also I have put those gmax tires on older 911s and had no complaints and my coworker has them on his sti and loves them .
I am using the All Season G-Max on my 2015 Lancer Evolution GSR. They handle great in the back roads.
One of the TireRack reps suggested the Firestone WeatherGrip tire. He drives an Alltrack and said that tire is the best all season/winter mild tire, but not at lot of people buy it because they think is not a really all season.
These E rated snow tires from General Tire are awesome so far, have deep tread, and options for studs.
As other have mentioned, that tread issue does kinda remind me of how my Firestone snow tires looked after a couple of summers driving on them and doing a fair amount of burnouts and drifting in my 350HP E23.
Hated these Firestone’s on my e30. Got very noisy when older, grip was inferior to a even a 10mm smaller width fallen rt615.
