Tires Goodyear or Kleber
Goodyear Duratracs are great in snow and are reasonably priced.
I just put the Walmart special (Goodyear Reliant 185/65/R15 for $88/ea) on my 2009 and I like them! It makes the road noise seem more quiet too!
I’m sticking with the Goodyear ones at Walmart for $88 each. I get 50+ mpg and the grip/control has been great in all weather conditions.
Goodyear weatherreadys - specifically for the adverse weather conditions when you actually care about the tires you’re using.
I got the Goodyear assurance fuel max tires on my 2017 after the OEM tires wore out. 4 years and 60k miles later and so far and they still have good tread. I live in the Chicago area, no issues, even in snow.
I've had good luck with the Goodyear WeatherReady tires on my Rav4.
I'm a big fan of the GY SC3R for HPDE. The grip is so impressive once you get some heat into them.
If your car feels like it’s bouncing/bobbing sideways (I’m guessing that’s what you mean by “bubbling”), it’s probably due to the softer material used on the winter tires. I’m running a set of Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady and they show the same behavior. The effect will less noticeable eventually as the tire passes the break-in period.
Goodyears I noticed don't handle the Ph roads too well.
Kevlar my ass, I've already had a puncture from a weenie nail, they have 0 grip on dry pavement and even less on wet, they are barely passable on dry offroad but absolute garbage in snow or ice. They are really the "worst of both worlds" when it comes to all-terrain tires. I got 6k miles on them before I gave up, just put on BFG trail/terrain tires and they are better in every way.
