Tires Hankook or DUNLOP
Just about worn through my D605 on the front.
Wonderful on road. Not too loud and gives you plenty of grip in the twisties. Have found some cupping after it’s worn down but that’s pretty normal for any knob tire.
Off road handles hard pack dirt and gravel easily. Rocks and roots are okay as well. The only area is had little traction was soft sand and mud. I haven’t found a good front tire for mud yet so that’s expected.
Overall for the price and rating as a 50/50 tire, it handles very well.
Mine have 30k miles on em and I live in Cali and they havent given me any trouble. I drove to Utah last year as well for a camping trip, they held up good in the heavy rain and dirt. I plan on swapping to an all around better tire though next year
Just got new tires! Hankook Ventus V2's. Highly recommend!
I’m using the non EV ones as Michelin replacements and they’re great. Just a slight range hit and a bit noisier than OEM.
Dunlop Q3+ Tons of grip, and good milage for the performance. Just be careful in the cold.
Dunlop Roadsmart 3 12k miles.
It's a very quiet all-season with a 70,000 mile estimated life expectancy according to Discount Tire.
I have the Hankook Kynergy GT's on mine. They have been fine on dry roads even when pushing it in the corners. On wet roads, as others have said, not so much. I just take it easy when it's wet.
Hankook makes some of the cheapest crappiest tires. There was an issue with premature wear on the Explorers. Michelin is better but not hugely better. I'd use Continental DWS06 any day of the week.
I did not like this tires on a previous car I had. Did not last long and terrible in snow.
