Tires Hankook or Firestone
I like firestone firehawk indy 500. summer tire. sticky. reminds me of the old yokohama S.Drive. Plenty of grip wet or dry, and in dry it's the only one that's let me put down full power coming out of a corner without going all spastic or lighting the traction control lamp.
I replaced my BFGoodrich MT T/A tires on my Wrangler with Hankook AT2 Extreme's, and what a difference. I'm 8,000 miles in on the AT2's, and there is zero sign of wear. My wife's mind was blown that our jeep was so much quieter, and we could have a conversation at highway speed without having to yell over the tire noise. These things are practically silent.
The off-road performance is greatly improved. Where the MT's would lose traction on mountain trails, the AT2's keep their grip and keep me moving.
Put some Hankooks on there; so much quieter and more comfortable. They aren’t as confidence-inspiring as the Yokos, but they are so much quieter and more forgiving. Kw/mi dropped to 270 with a mix of aggressive city driving and highway between 75-85mph.
Put Firestone Destination AT2s on mine. Great tire and good meaty look. The positive is that fuel economy only went down by 2 to 24.7 from 26.7.
I have had the Winterforce ones for a couple years now. They seem to be good tires.
I have the Hankook ION EVO on my M3 and they are a great smooth efficient tire, they now have 6k miles on them and no signs of wear yet.
For those in the market for new tires I just put a set of the Hankook ion evo tires on the X and they are INCREDIBLE. Before throwing these tires on I was definitely of the "there's no way these foam tires are going to make a differnce" school of thought. I'm a believer.
My Ion’s are about to be replaced at 40k km’s (25k miles), which is around what I’ve been getting on my Performance (with 18” wheels). New Zealand has rather coarse roads tho…
Your generation crv is lucky to get 30k out of a set of tires *WITH* proper alignment, awd, pressures and rotations at ~5k miles. Do not buy hankook tires
Hankook is Korean garbage whereas Nokian is the best all weather tires on the planet.
