Tires Hankook or GENERAL TIRE
After one week of ownership I purchased a new set of General Altimax rt43's (replaced the OEM Conti's) that are rated V, max 149 mph. They have worn like iron, have great grip and are very quiet, even after 20k miles.
I've been happy with General Altimax RT43 tires on my previous cars, good balance of quality and price for an all around tire.
I've been running general g max as-05s and been pleasantly surprised with their performance. Nothing close to the 200 treadwear summers I've run, but decent for an all season.
About 800 miles on mine (2018 GSW S 4mo). Can only echo what others have said. Excellent dry traction, excellent in the rain, and based on limited snow darn good there as well! Very quiet with a firm, connected feel.
I have put General Altimax tires on my older hatchback and think they're pretty good.
Nokian (any of their winters), Blizzaks (any of their winters), michelin x-ice or General Artic winter tires are the 4 brands that I stick to for winter tires. Nokian is hands down the best, Blizzaks and Michelin are a real close 2nd and 3rd and the generals are a solid budget tire that I used to run on my 240sx in ottawa way back in day. (I currently run General Grabbers on my pickup and they are better than the bfgoodrich that are nearly 100$ more a tire).
The 31" Hankook Rw11's have been fantastic in the snow.
I currently have General Altimax Arctic, studded, on my 2013. So far they have been great, but we will see how they go in deeper snow.
I feel that the Kinergy GT tires are mediocre at best for most conditions. Had them on our 2017 and they still had at least 4-5 32nds of tread when we turned in the lease at 38,000 miles, but at least 10k of those miles were with snow tires. I think 35-40k would be the max upper range and probably hitting the wear bars by then.
The GTI comes stock with some pretty bad all seasons (225/40R-18 Hankook Ventos S1 Noble 2). That has got to be one of the most mind boggling decisions because if you’re going for a GTI, you’re probably looking for something “sporty” so why have garbage tires as standard?
