Tires KENDA or GENERAL TIRE
I just replaced my General Altimax 43s with Hankooks and I miss them. The General's were pretty decent in the snow and I had better gas mileage than I have now with the Hankooks. The only downside was they only lasted about 60,000 miles.
I have the General Altimax on my 2000 Toyota Celica GT-S, and they are always surprised to hear I have been about 60k miles on them and the tread is still viable to pass inspection etc.
I've got the Generals on my Jetta GLI. I had higher performance tires but kept getting bubbles on the awful New England roads. I'm pretty happy with them. You definitely give up a little bit of grip/road feel on dry roads but they're comfortable for daily driving and the value factor is nice. If you're looking for something that's going to suit you on a day-to-day or commuter type basis I'd recommend them.
I drive a Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and ran a set of General AltiMAX RT43s to 64,000 miles (3/32” remaining tread). Replaced with RT45s a year ago (13k miles) and they still look new.
Honestly? I've got nothing against Pirelli tires, but the Generals are would be my go to here... They are a better quality tires than those specific Pirellis... Ride better, be quieter, last longer...
I ran a General Altimax (AS??) on one of my older cars and at the time was plenty happy with it.
I am a big fan of General tires in general in the moderate budget category... they are a great cost to benefit tire and part of Continental tires.
The Grabber HTS 60 is a great tire... as long as you don't have to deal with winter conditions.
I had General Altimax Arctic 12s for 2 years and didn’t switch them out in the summer. Surprisingly great performance on all the dirt roads and still held traction on their second winter season.
My thoughts are the tires work fine. I do get a little rubbing at extremes, but no significant loss of traction on icy, snowy stuff.
My mother had a set of Generals on her MKZ. They never felt great, always had weird squirming, noise and vibration issues. They wore out fast, especially the shoulders due to constantly operating under inflated due to always losing air fast.
