Tires KENDA or OEM Volkswagen
I had Kenda Kountachs and they served me well, only really got pinch flats ever and that was 100% my fault.
Nothing wrong with Kendas. They get the job done.
Talk to Daelen at MAP. He can set you up with Kenda Tires at a discount. With a KA you should make it through multiple events on one set of Kendas.
I get 37mpg city in my tdi, and the best mileage I ever got on my rabbit (2.5 mkv) was 32mpg with 15's and ultra low rolling resistance tires.
They had been recommended to me by a couple friends, but obviously you have to try it before you really know. This is *my* take on these tires **after only one ride**. I can corner better than I've ever been able to on a 29er. I feel more comfortable going through loose sand and dirt. Traction on most surfaces that I rode on (packed dirt, loose dirt, rocks, road, and gravel) was much higher. Due to the above, I was able to go faster through more areas of trail. Rolling over small objects was smoother. Rolling resistance is much higher than I had thought, but it doesn't stop you dead. To me, this simply means I have to work a little harder, which I have no problem doing.
I've had several cars of the $150 variety. The best was a 1990 VW Fox that I bought for $150 from the original owner. I then proceeded to drive it about 150K before I spent another cent on it besides oil tires and gas.
Not in my experience. I run 32/32 and my tires now have 35k on them, and are good for another 5k or so more no problemo. Wear is about as even as I've ever seen for a tire this far into its useful life. I messed around with a lot of different pressures before settling on this combo, and it's what works best for me.. and definitely no adverse wear issues.
I ha dto change my tires e-brake, e-brake lines, brakes rotors, rear subframe bushings and I have 8 codes on my car sayin I now have electicall problems.
My last vw, jetta, the rears always got scalloped eventually, even with rotations...now on the CC, just had the tires again rotated with the 30k service and the noise from the front is annoying as hell...that droning reverbish kind of sound.
I liked the feel of Nevegals, but mine started to fall apart about 4 months after getting them. Durability seems to be an issue for myself, and some other people after reading other reviews.
