V730 is only other tire that’s cheap and works well. My personal experience on them is on a Miata, I was shocked how good they worked.
Go with the Kumho V730. They are the cheapest tire per corner, wear VERY well (about 100 runs before they cord…WITHOUT flipping). They are exactly what you need for a low-camber GS car.
Bought a separate set of winter wheels, sensors, and tires (Vredestein Wintrac Pro) from Tire Rack. Otherwise just regular maintenance. Driven over 65k miles so far, almost all of it chasing snow throughout New England.
I run them on my Highlander and they have been great. This thing eats tires but they last around 40k miles on the Highlander. Definitely recommend!
I have a set of Kumho Crugens on one of my cars, I like them so far (just installed in October, and we do get winter).
ive had a great experience with the vredestein quadtrac pro. caveat that it was purchased for its snow/winter capability but in the dry and rain its been very solid too
I personally bough VREDESTEIN HYPERTRAC tires from there and I am having them installed by Express Tire Saline (1st time customer).
Put a set of new Vredestein Quatrac Pro tires a couple months ago without issue. No alignment done.
The OE tires (Kumho Solus KL21) still have probably 25% of the tread remaining, so they're not in need of replacement for that reason... even though they have become pretty noisy and have a bit of feathering around the edges.
Unfortunately I’ve learned my own lesson that the ratings aren’t entirely accurate.
I got the Quadtracs based on the ratings and they are neither quieter nor offer more traction than the stock primacys
