Tires Maxxis or Achilles
Works pretty well for me. I run 2.3" Maxxis DHR II.
DHR II 2.4WT exists in double down and EXO casing at least in 27.5 -- I own both.
I have liked maxxis crossmark.
Achilles, their cheap and have never failed on me
my Achilles ATR Sport 2 last forever in the rear and have good grip
I've been recommended Achilles ATR Sport 2 by literally all of my friends. I've had Pilot Super Sports before, and the Achilles handle extremely similar while intense driving. I'd say they last just as long as well.
On my XC hardtail I have a Maxxis 2.4 Ardent on the front, and a Maxxis 2.2 Ikon on the rear. It is a great combo so far.
I just put some 2.25" Maxxis Ardent TR EXOs on my Trek 29er and they have been awesome so far. Tons of grip compared to the bontragers I had (cheaper ones that came with my bike).
I have used that brand i linked before though, and they are ok. I wouldnt put them on a track car or go 150mph in them, but they are fine for your average daily.
I wouldn't recommend Achilles tires in general. The bare tire (unmounted) flat-spotted under its own weight.
